Interesting take on Science and art

layer earth

I found a very interesting picture that relates science and art in a weird way. The picture stood out to me because it is not something you see everyday. It is a mash up mess, then it flows into distinct different layers. all different colors, so I read the article.  A singer by the name of Bjork has released a music video for her song “mutual Core” the song uses the geological problems her home front Iceland is having as a metaphors for real life relationships. She uses Sand art to portray the earths layers crumbing together signifying the shift of the North American plate, the Eurasian plate shifting, and the movement of the mid Atlantic ridge that some how affected the geological structure of Iceland. The artist is known for her interesting choice of scientific art form. See the site below for more information.
